We've asked the mayor and other officials for help, but years later - nothing has happened, there is still no bridge. If there were any kind of emergency here we would be stuck and no help could get in. We need a bridge with a pedestrian access.
I've considered writing Russia or China for help. Is that a good idea? No one here seems to care.
Signed,
Bridgeless Grandma
Dear Bridgeless,
By all means contact Russia, China, France or whomever you can. West Virginia towns and state government are simply too broke funding our special projects, legislator pay raises, government pension funds, and President Obama's unfunded mandates. And you know what? We've helped other countries, it's time for them to give back.
I'm doing what I can, however -- I am mailing a box of envelopes, stamps and address book for officials in several countries for you to contact. Good luck!
And please stop calling our offices.
