Legendary rocker Bruce Springsteen, who has written and recorded many songs about his home state of New Jersey, is recording an album of songs about West Virginia. The CD, "West Virginia" will be a solo effort and a follow up to his recently released cd recorded with The E Street Band – "Welcome To The Wrecking Ball." The CD is slated for a Fall 2013 release.

CHARLESTON- Pandemonium ensued at Cato Park swimming pool in Charleston, West Virginia yesterday when the public swimming pool was raided by the Charleston Police Department and a SWAT team. The raid took place after a gun was spotted at the swimming pool. The police apprehended an unnamed 9 year-old boy who was later released after it was determined that the 'gun' was only a toy squirt gun known as a Super Soaker ^(TM).

Salwa Amin, a star of MTV's Buckwild, was arrested for possession of drugs with an intent to deliver after she was found hiding in a shed with two other people outside of a home in Summersville, West Virginia. Now, the star is claiming she was set up by Sen. Joe Manchin.

CHARLESTON- With Colorado and Washington State both legalizing Marijuana, West Virginia may be dreaming of a Rocky Mountain High of it's own.

LOGAN- When Todd Mathews dressed up as a zombie to attend Logan High School's Halloween party, the senior did not considered he was doing anything wrong. It was, in fact, the third year in a row that he had dressed like 'the Walking Dead' -- it was, however, the first year he was sent home for doing so.

MORGANTOWN- Despite authorities cracking down on the practice and making the act a felony; despite university efforts to ban the practice, and despite a video from the WVU Student Government -- couches continue to burn in Morgantown.

BOONE COUNTY- The West Virginia mountains will soon be alive with the sound of Opossum. Not your normal run-of-the-mill Opossum, these are Pickled Boone County Ninjety Possum Whipper Snappers!

DUNBAR- Sen. Joe Manchin, DEMOCRAT-W.Va. has angered The West Virginia Barber and Stylist Association with his new campaign ad.  So angered, they are endorsing his opponent, John Raese.

TAMPA BAY- As Tropical Storm Issac bears down on Florida, many are blaming Republicans for the storm.  Samuel L. Jackson tweeted it was 'unfair' that Tropical Storm Isaac was sparing the GOP Convention in Tampa.  In his typical profanity-laced fashion, Jackson tweeted that he was "not understanding God's f---ing plan" 

BECKLEY - For the second time this year, Bigfoot has been arrested in Beckley, WV. In April the troubled beast was found passed out in the cooler of a Beckley convenience store that he had broken in to and drank several cases of beer.
