Guantanamo Bay burned to the ground this morning after an inmate apparently stole matches from a guard and attempted to light his prayer mat on fire. The desperate act was believed to be an escalation of the on-going protest within the prison facility. All inmates were consumed by the inferno, however reports state all guards are safe.
GANDEEVILLE- If you drove down through Gandeeville on your way down 119, you would be forgiven for not giving the small yellow signs a second look. You might take them for the iconic Smiley Face from the decade of the 70's. On second look, however, the homemade signs are actually menacing frowns.
UPPER FALLS- In an ironic twist of fate, a West Virginia town is no more. The unincorporated town of Tornado was destroyed overnight by a freak tornado. Authorities say the devastation is such that they will not rebuild.
CHARLESTON- STOP THE PRESSES! Big changes are coming for the Charleston 'Gazette/Mail', as well as several other state-wide print newspapers. Citing growing expenses and dwindling subscription rates, several daily papers will cease delivering, and in some cases, printing weekend editions.
Once again, the ubiquitus social media giant is messing with your Facebook experience. This time, however, you may not mind. The changes won't affect the appearance of wall posts so much as... how they sound.

MOUNDSVILLE- West Virginia's Division of Culture and History, Commissioner Randall Reid-Smith announced that he again has put on his thinking cap and has a brilliant plan. The official proclamation, "The Grave Creek Mound Relocation" proposal was presented today by the former, legendary, internationally known, opera tenor.
SISSONVILLE- It's been over forty-six years since he was first reported being seen. Roger and Linda Scarberry saw him first along with Steve and Mary Mallette. On a dark, deserted road in Point Pleasant, WV Mothman made his first appearance in West Virginia. There are many stories related to the Mothman.
BECKLEY- With coal mines shutting down across the Mountain State, many families are looking for their next paycheck. One couple who purchased a recently closed mine found quite a bit more than a paycheck. They found a retirement plan, with plenty left over.
Don't bother saying grace over your Thanksgiving Turkey this year. The Federal Government has already seen to it that it has been blessed. At least according to Muslim tradition, that is.
PUMPKIN (MILTON)- Tis the season! The Pumpkin Season, that is! And at this time of year, Milton, WV is full of them! But that wasn't enough for the residents of Milton. On the 27th Anniversary of their World-Famous "Pumpkin Festival", they are officially renaming their sleepy little town, home to 2,500 people, to "Pumpkin, WV".
