On the day of West Virginia's 149th Birthday, her oldest town, is getting a new son.  Romney, WV has adopted Mitt Romney as an honorary citizen.

"We strongly believe in his campaign," said Mayoral Spokesman Kenneth Cornwell.  "Some have argued that West Virginia is supposed to be a Democrat-only State, but that's not been the case for several Presidental elections.  Besides, even Senator James Manchin and Governor Earl Ray Tomblin are cold on Obama because of his EPA regulations against Coal.  They aren't even going to the Democrat Convention this year [LINK].  And I hear that James Manchin is switching parties, anyway [LINK].  The bottom line is, West Virginia needs someone like Mitt Romney and Romney, West Virginia is embracing him as an honorary citizen - and hopefully, the next President of the United States!"

Not everyone is happy with the decision.  Hope Chang, headmaster of the West Virginia School for the Deaf and Blind said, "I think it's wrong to support anyone but Obama.  I don't see a problem with him. I have never heard anything bad about what he's done for West Virginia or America."

There will be a formal ceremony during today's West Virginia's Birthday Celebratioin.  Mitt Romney will be unable to attend due to his already scheduled campaign appearances.  He will be making a Skype video call and thank the town for the honor.   "I tried everything I could do to make it to Romney, West Virginia, but it just wouldn't work out -- this week, anyway.  I'll be driving through that area in the next couple of weeks and i hope to meet and greet everyone.  Ann and I love West Virginia!" Presidental Candidate Mitt Romney told The Diggerer this morning.

In other news, several Southern West Virginia towns are fighting for the right to rename their town after President Barack Hussein Obama.
