Just in case some of you young whippersnappers (& some older ones) didn't know this. It's easy to check out, if you don't believe it. Be sure and show it to your family and friends. They need a little history lesson on what's what and it doesn't matter whether you are Democrat or Republican. Facts are Facts.
CHARLESTON- After being hit with a devastating storm early last week, West Virginia is still feeling the effects of hurricane Sandy. While not getting hit quite as hard as New York and New Jersey, West Virginia has joined a growing number of states extending Election Day. Madam Secretary of State, Natalie Tennent, made the announcement late Sunday night via her Twitter account. A press conference is scheduled Monday morning.
A good friend of mine recently complained about the choices in this election cycle and chided my confidence in my choice by saying, "Voting for the lesser of two evils, is still voting for evil". THIS is my response:
In honor of Memorial Day, I have written the following TRUE account of the holidays origin:
1866- It had been three years since Francis Harrison Pierpont had served as the provisional Governor in Wheeling. Having lived in what is now Marion County, he had been honored to be selected. He grew up near Morgantown and was related to its founder, Zackquill Morgan, so it was an easy decision in uneasy times.
TAMPA BAY- The Republican National Convention started off this week and a shocked mainstream media came to question everything they thought they knew.
MARTINSBURG- The forecast was sunny, but it felt overcast. Flowers lost their pleasant smell, the birds stopped singing, couples argued for no reason, and babies did nothing but cry. Tuesday, the unthinkable happened. A GOP Campaign office opened in Martinsburg, West Virginia.
HUNTINGTON - Months before the election of 2012 has even taken place, Alligator Jackson announced his intentions to run for Mayor of Huntington in 2016. The self-proclaimed "world's only beer drinking and geetar pickin' real life alligator" anounced offically kicked off his campaign at Jake's Bar in Huntington at 2:35 AM Saturday morning after a couple of rounds of tequillia.
Don't forget the next two days have been set aside as the Primary Election for West Virginia.
WASHINGTON- Long–time Democrat Joe Manchin, who has served as both governor and senator of West Virginia, has jumped from of what he called a 'sinking ship' and has announced he's joining the Republican Party.
