The Dark Knight Rises

Appearantly, it's all the rage to connect the dots between new movies and political campaigns.  A lot has been said about the Mitt Romney / The Dark Knight Rises connection, so I may as well join in.

POSSIBLE ELECTION SPOILER ALERT:

From my extensive research watching previews and trailers, The Dark Knght Rises movie fits Republican Mitt Romney down to a 'T'.  Was that what D.C. had in mind when making this in an election year?  I hope not, but the overlapping plot points speak for themselves:

  • Rich dude? Check!
  • Rich father? Check!
  • Took a break from public service? Check!
  • Getting back into public service? Check!
  • Attacks from Bane/Bain? Check!

Also, "The Dark Knight" is a phrase coined in the last movie (and comics) because Batman wasn't some popular, bright, shiny hero that the media and everybody else loved - but was probably the hero they needed.

Hello?!  Which candidate is popular right now and which one is the 'dark horse' in this years campaign?

Exactly.

Even Bane as the bad guy tryin to take down the hero because he blames him for something or another!  Seriously?

In real life, Mitt Romney has to take on the (false) attacks from Bain (Capital) that he was supposedly connected to investment firm when some dirty deals went  down [LINK]

I don't like it when Hollywood gets political, cause these guys are actors, writers and producers of ...make-believe.  What makes them experts on who I should vote for? I would rather make my decision after listening to non-partisan economists and business experts.

If Hollywood wants to vote for Republican Mitt Romney because they see him as some bad-ass, bullet-proof, sexy hovercar flying, hero, fine!  But don't expect me to fall for their propoganda.

Not again, anyway...

Buck became interested in the entertainment industry while working at Blockbuster Video Rental.  He prides himself in having seen more consecutive movie trailers than anyone he knows - and he can quote 5-6 of them verbatum!

Buck now works at the local Multiplex Theater and is able to slip in to watch almost all the new movie trailers before his manager catches him.  He has yet to see a movie start to finish.  He feels this gives him an untainted perspective in reviewing films because, as he puts it, "Trailers are always the best parts of the film, anyway."

Writing for TheDiggerer.com, Buck covers all things Entertainment: Television, Music, Movies and Dance (he loves Dancing with the Stars!).
